Hats Off to Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken Jr.

Our congratulations go out to Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken Jr., who most deservedly entered the Hall of Fame this afternoon. It has been overstated that athletes should not be seen as role models for young people but these two played the game with class and really were guys that could be looked up to.

Do you think anybody lives up to their standard who plays the game today?

a few guys come to mind to me, just maybe not to the degree of ripken and gwynn... luis gonzalez, david ortiz, craig biggio, derek jeter, and even some recently retired ballplayers such as tino martinez, mark grace, etc...

p.s. i referring to the players being role models and the "nice guys" of the league, not just the skill level
