The Blue Jays and Lyle Overbay have reached an agreement on a four year deal, worth 24 million dollars. After players like
Juan Pierre or
Dave Roberts receiving ten million a year,
Overbay, who batted .312 with 22 HR and 92 RBI, accepts a deal that would give him 6 million a year. This signing will obviously join
Moises Alou and
Chris Carpenter as the best signings this off season. Now that
Overbay is signed, the Blue Jays have three remaining arbitration
eligibles:
Alex Rios,
Reed Johnson and
Scott Downs.
