i like verlander. solid pitcher on a team with a lot of run production. I think that total is you are assuming the bullpen will be solid.

Dontrelle's projections are ridiculous. He was bad in the NL, he'll be equal or worse in the AL in my opinion.

he was playing for a bad team in the NL in a good division. He moves to a great team in a mediocore division. dont forget, he has 22 wins and a 2.6 ERA just a couple years back.

We'll see, but thanks for the opinion.

You make a good point, but I think you may be undervaluing the AL Central, plus he will be pitching against the AL Easy as well. I like the Indians very much and think that the White Sox have a potent line-up but may not have the pitching needed to get it done. the rest of the pitching on the tigers seems about right, it's just D-Train's that wrongs me. I would looove to see him succeed, he's one of my favorites.

I find it very hard to believe that only miggy and mags gets more than 100 rbis!!! Gary with 75 rbis??

But take out 2005 and Willis' career numbers plummet to 46-44 with a 4.55 ERA and 1.43 WHIP.

And over the last two years, his BB/9 and hits/9 dramatically increased, numbers that can be attributed directly to his ability to pitch effectively and not so much to his team's overall success and/or run support.

There are concerns there. And top to bottom, he will face more quality teams in the AL than he did in the NL, regardless of division. The Tigers will play Cleveland 18 times and the Yankees, Red Sox and Angels eight times each, something he didn't do in the NL.

He may win 15 games with that offense but if he posts an ERA below 4.30 I would be extremely shocked.

eli-i would bet u anything that 1. willis finishes with an era over 5 and 2. pudge hits more homeruns than jacque jones and polanco combined...ivan already has 6 this spring and looks to be ready for a solid comback season

Your projections are whack, and seems like you put no thought into them. Plus the AL Central is not a mdeiocre divison it is the toughest divsion in baseball right now. Before you make these posts please put some thought into them.

u cant judge stats on ST thats just dumb because he hit those HR off the pitches not best pitches i think this was another good one eli but i think a few less wins for verlander and willis because of a bad BP

buddy are you kidding me with Placido Polanco numbers? im probably not as baseball smart as you Eli and i really do enjoy reading your page and im not even a tigers fan (CUBIES RULE) but i do know that Polanco hit .341 last year and i dont know why you would drop that number so dramatically to .286. Count on him to not be any where near the .200's he's gonna have another .300 plus season.

I am a Tigers fan and will go over each player individually to say whether i think your numbers are good...

Sheffield- AVG is OK, Homerun total and RBI total are far too low

Rodriguez-About right, expect a little bit high in each though

Guillen-higher everything, pretty big time

Polanco- You have to be kidding me, Polanco is one of the best hitters in the game. .330+ avg. for him

Cabrera-dead on, maybe higher avg.

Renteria-dead on, higher avg. though

Jones-dead on

Granderson-more homeruns

Magglio-slightly higher everything

Inge-good

Where's Thames?

Verlander-lower ERA, higher K total

Rogers-more wins and Ks

Bonderman-more wins, less losses, lower ERA and waaay more Ks

Dontrelle- Good, less losses

Robertson-more wins, less losses
