Report: Mets Close to Acquiring Bedard

According to major league sources, the Mets are very close to acquiring Erik Bedard in exchange for Phillip Humber, Aaron Heilman, Ryan Church, and a player to be named later. This seems a little low knowing the Orioles in trade discussions, so I expect that they may be in talks. It is possible they offered Kevin Mulvey in the deal too, that could probably get it done, but I will look into it.

UPDATE: The report that suggested Erik Bedard is on his way to the Mets is "false," according to one executive with the Mets. However, talks are ongoing.

MLB Rumors on Reuters!: Check out this article posted on Reuters a couple nights ago. They took my story on David Riske, reporting the story that he was close to signing.

A young ace under contract for two years? For our lesser pitching prospect, an admittedly good set-up man, and a doubles-hitting outfielder? SIGN ME UP!!!!
