Royals, Guillen Close to Deal
Despite reports that the Royals were cooling off to the idea of bringing in Joe Guillen, talks have picked up tonight and they are closing in on a three year deal, worth 35-40 million dollars. I'm sure there might be an opt clause in case more comes up about the purchase of HGH, but this is still a good deal for them. Guillen batted .290 with 21 HR and 99 RBI, numbers that would help the Royals a lot. Not only that, but with him, Billy Butler, and Alex Gordon they could make a pretty decent run, considering what they have done over the past couple of years. The Royals are also eying Hiroki Kuroda, along with Carlos Silva.
