Torres to Retire?

Instead of reporting to the Brewers, Salomon Torres is mulling retirement. Torres, 35, was 2-4 with a 5.47 ERA, 12 SV, and 45 K, and would probably become a late inning reliever for the Brewers. I suspect he will pitch in 2008. He is going to a team that was winning the whole year, and should only get better in 2008. Not only that, but he will be a free agent next year, and can just retire than. Torres is set to make 3.2 million dollars next season, so I think he will stay.

Brewers also signed Eric Gagne today, now they have a bona fide closer.
