Cardinals Place Ankiel On DL

Cardinals outfielder Rick Ankiel will be placed on the DL after he was unable to play two days after the crash. Ankiel made a running catch and collided with the wall head first, and had to be taken off on a stretcher. He will be okay, but he needs more recovery time than orginally expected. Ankiel is hitting .247 with 2 HR in 24 games this season.

The Cardinals will call up outfielder Shane Robinson from Triple-A. Robinson, 23, is hitting .345 in 15 games.
