Red Sox, Matsuzaka Not Close
According to Boston.com, the Red Sox are not optimistic about getting a deal done with Daisuke Matsuzaka. Matsuzaka's agent, Scott Boras, is asking for 12 million a year over six years. The Red Sox posted 51.1 million dollars in hopes of signing the pitcher. He was the MVP of the WBC and has a pitch that no one else can throw called a Gyro Ball. He was the first of three players to come to the U.S. by the posting process. The other two were Kei Igawa (Yankees) and Akinori Iwamura (Devil Rays).
