As of two nights ago, the Red Sox and Yankees appeared to be the favorites to land Roger Clemens. However, now that Pettitte has signed with New York, Clemens may follow his teammate like he did to Houston three years ago. The Red Sox are planning to offer close to 25 million, if Matsuzaka does not sign with them. The Yankees are hoping that Clemens would follow Pettitte, but Clemens has indicated no decision on whether to pitch is close. If any deal is struck though, it would guarantee that Clemens would be able to go home during starts.
