Giants Resign Durham
The Giants resigned Ray Durham to a two year deal, worth 14 million dollars. The 35-year-old Durham, a switch-hitter and two-time All-Star, is coming off his best season in years. He batted .293 with career highs of 26 home runs and 93 RBIs. This effects many teams options for bringing in the second baseman. The Padres, a team said to be interested will have to look elsewhere for run production. Prospect Kevin Frandsen was said to possibly earn the starting job but with the signing of Durham, he will either be used off the bench or sent to AAA.
