Mariners, Guillen Close?

The Nationals offered Jose Guillen arbitration this week but it is unlikely he will accept it. A person close to Guillen, made it clear yesterday that Guillen is close to signing a deal with an AL team. That team, according to other sources, is the Mariners. The Mariners would then have to forfeit a draft pick if they sign him. Guillen, 30, hit .216 with nine home runs and 40 RBIs before being placed on the disabled list. Guillen told MLB.com that he has already begun getting ready for Spring Training.
