Hopefully it's just a short term thing," Dodgers manager Grady Little said. Schmidt, who's now on the DL, was 11-9 last year with the Giants, with a 3.59 ERA.

Well I was pretty sure that this was gonna happen to Schmidt this year. In his seasons in SF he was a workhorse averaging close to 200 innings a year and his velocity dropped every year from 97-98 in 2003 to 88-89 in 06
This guy is old.
nice. as a giants fan it doesnt get any better news than that. now i feel a little more comfortable with havinh zito now.
