Bad sign? Jason Schmidt came into Spring Training and was not bringing the same heat that everyone thought he would. It carried over into the season and he's gone 1-2 with a 7.36 ERA. This lead to an MRI which came up negative, but the Dodgers plan to give him a couple days off. "We are going to give it a few days to let it [shoulder inflammation] calm down. Hopefully it's just a short term thing," Dodgers manager Grady Little said. Schmidt, who's now on the
DL, was 11-9 last year with the Giants, with a 3.59 ERA.

Well I was pretty sure that this was gonna happen to Schmidt this year. In his seasons in SF he was a workhorse averaging close to 200 innings a year and his velocity dropped every year from 97-98 in 2003 to 88-89 in 06
