Despite the freezing cold, Reds 1B/OF Jeff Conine hit a three run homerun and a triple, leading the Reds to a 6-1 victory over the Pirates. Conine also had a game-tying single and scored the go-ahead run against the Cubs on Thursday. Last year, Conine hit .273 with 10 HR and 67 RBI with the Orioles and Phillies. He's compiled a .286 AVG with 208 HR and 1035 RBI over 18 seasons with the Royals, Marlins, Orioles, Phillies, and Reds. He's noted as being on both Marlins World Series Teams, but is now a utility player for the Reds.
FANTASY SUGGESTION: DESPITE TWO GOOD GAMES, HE IS JUST NOT FANTASY BASEBALL TEAM MATERIAL. EVEN IF HE DOES GET A STARTING JOB, HE WON'T PRODUCE ENOUGH IN ANY CATEGORY TO INVEST IN HIS SERVICES.
