Guillen, Mariners, Finalize Deal

The Mariners and Jose Guillen have finalized a one year deal worth 5 million dollars. The contract also includes the possibility of another $3 million in performance-based bonuses. The deal has a $9 million option for the 2008 season. Guillen batted .216 with nine home runs and 40 RBI with the Washington Nationals in 2006 but played in only 69 games.

well, cliff floyd is not being pursued by anyone right now. most teams are starting to meet with agent of pitchers, so when they arrive at the winter meetings, they are not starting fresh. since floyd wants to come to the cubs, they are already past that point, but the cubs need to contact him. if the cubs are interested, expect to hear about late next week. floyd is also being purused by the a's (assuming piazza signs with the rangers), the orioles and possibly the phillies.
