Today was the first day of the baseball Winter Meetings and already big names are coming up.
-According to Jason Stark, Ted Lilly is set to sign a deal with the Cubs. The deal is similiar to the one Jarrod Washburn received from the Mariners (4/37).

- The Dodgers and Red Sox discussed a deal that would send Manny Ramirez to L.A., but the Dodgers call a deal getting done as a long shot.
- Ken Rosenthal believes that Zito will either be signed by the Rangers or Mets, a deal that could give him 17 million a year over six years.
- The Mets plan to pursue Javier Vasquez
- The Pirates are looking to trade for Adam La Roche, but the Braves do not want to trade him.
- Pedro Feliz, Rich Aurilia, and Benji Molina have signed with the Giants, and Jose Guillen has signed with the Mariners.
