FOXSPORTS: Ramirez Resigns With Cubs

The Chicago Cubs have signed Aramis Ramirez to a deal expected to be 5 years 70-75 million. Today was the day Ramirez was able to negotiate with any team he wants. Like he said before, he wanted to stay in Chicago. Well, Cubs fan can now relax and move on to their next acquisition. Teams like the Dodgers, Angels, and Red Sox will now have to move to plan B.

The Cubs also signed Kerry Wood to an incentive base contract. He feels it is his duty to stay with the Cubs and make it up to the organization for all the injuries he has had. I see him platooning with Howry for closer. The Cubs will probay package Dempster in a trade this offseason.
