He would replace Barfield at second. The Padres also posted a bid for Kei Igawa. The Padres bid over 10 million and the winning bid was announced at 25 million. Officials will announce the winning bid tonight or tomorrow.

i heard he was going to sign with the brewers
on padres.com they have reached a preliminary agreement. who knows, we will find out tomorrow.
I think the Brewers were going to get him but the Padres swooped in and offered him the sweet deal of playing every day. I am not that impressed, Mark Loretta or Adam Kennedy would have been better choices to play everyday.
