Cubs Interest in Lugo is Lukewarm

According to the Chicago Tribune, the Cubs interest in Julio Lugo is not what it seemed to be. A report earlier in the week stated that the Cubs were actively pursuing Lugo to play center. However, it appears the Cubs will turn their attention to Gary Mathews Jr. or J.D. Drew. However, the money they have to spend for atleast two pitchers, and an outfielder, they might have to settle on two second tier pitchers, and one decent, but cheap outfielder. If the Cubs were able to sign Lugo, he would be able to play center, and move to shortstop when Felix Pie is ready. However, the Cubs will probably turn their attention to pitching, before they address their outfield situation.
