According to Ken Rosenthal, the White Sox and Rangers have called off the Jon Garland deal. There was no solid deal in the first place; however the deal could be revisited later in the off-season. The Orioles and Angels have both contacted the Sox about the overload of pitching they have, however nothing has gone past that. Frank Catalanotto is close to signing a three year contract with an option for a fourth with the Rangers. All he needs to do is pass a physical and it will be official. He played for the Rangers from 2000-02 and come Monday, he will again.
Also, soon to be new Cubs center fielder, Alfonso Soriano will have a physical either tonight or tomorrow and the deal will then be made official tomorrow or Tuesday.
