The Toronto Blue Jays are seriously considering making a run for Roger Clemens, according to the Metro News Canada. Clemens, who pitched for the Blue Jays in 1997 and 1998, has said he would pitch if the right opportunity approached him, and I'm not sure the Blue Jays are that fit. Clemens fought off some leg problems this season and I think they would be taking a risk by bringing him in. Not only are they weak at the plate, but their bullpen was inconsistent at times, and they are playing in a division which is getting a lot better. He is slated to work with the Astros as a consultant and I think he would be wise to just call it a career. For now, it is just a rumor. I doubt that the Blue Jays would look to Clemens as a "must-sign," maybe as a fallback if all else fails.Cubs trade another outfielder: The Cubs are making more room on their roster by trading Craig Monroe to the Twins for a minor league prospect. To me, this says the Twins are now behind Torii Hunter, but we will see what happens this week.

did u even bother to look at the jays bullpen's numbers before you made that statement?
i check the blue jays bullpen and they are good now i don't know were do u get ur reports. Do u even watch baseball?
I don't think this is even reasonable. Not only is it coming from a questionable news source, but it makes no sense. They don't have the money to pay him, for one thing.
Also, the Jays have better options than 2008-Clemens within their organization for next to no money. Why would they pay all that money for someone they didn't need at all?
Also, it was mentioned above... The Jays had the second best bullpen in the AL this year. Their ERA was 3.46, and Boston lead the league with 3.10.
... And the Jays were average in fielding percentage but first in all of baseball in assists. And that's with Matt Stairs and Adam Lind in left filling in for Reed Johnson, Russ Adams filling in for Glaus for a time, Matt Stairs and Curtis Thigpen filling in for Lyle Overbay at first, and Vernon Wells not being himself in centre thanks to the bum shoulder.
They were a decent defensive ball club even without the help of their best defenders. It's certainly not fair to call them weak on defense.
In any case, I don't think there is any basis to this rumour. Clemens is a terrible fit for them.
Seriously? I know this is the internet and you can pretty much say whatever you want without any repercussions, but you were not only referencing the worst baseball journalist in Toronto (possibly in the world) at the same time as you were making statements that proved you, yourself, never bothered to look into this "article" of yours.
The Jays have an awesome bullpen, and their D (Particularly their infield D) is amazing...

If you look at +/- or defensive efficiency, the Jays had arguably the best defence in the league. What a terrible commentary on a terrible rumour started by a terrible reporter.
