White Sox Improve Bullpen

The White Sox are closing in on a four year deal, worth 19 million dollars with relief pitcher Scott Linebrink. Linebrink was lights out this season for the Padres and Brewers and plans to be a key part of their bullpen plans for 2008 and beyond. Linebink, who was 5-6 with a 3.71 ERA with 50 K, is set to take a physical next week. At first, I thought this deal was a little much. But he is only making 4.5 annually, not much more than Bob Howry, who signed this kind of deal two years ago. Also, he has been very consistent over the past five years which is why the Williams signed him. The White Sox had one of the worst bullpens in baseball last year, and by adding Linebrink, they have made it a lot better.
