According to Ken Rosenthal, the Red Sox are prepared to make a big push for free agent pitcher to be A.J. Burnett. Burnett is 16-10 with a 4.48 ERA in thirty games this season and is likely to opt out of his contract following this season. The Yankees have already said they were interested in Burnett, as will a hand full of other teams in the coming weeks.
Burnett is likely looking at a four or five year deal worth about 13-15 million dollars.
