According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, the Cardinals have asked to view Carl Pavano's medical records. This could hint that Walt
Jocketty is desperate for pitching, fearing he may lose both Jeff
Suppan and Jeff Weaver via free agency.
Pavano, who did not pitch last year do to injury, went 4-6 in 2005, with a 4.77 ERA and 56 K. The Rockies have also shown interest in him but would only work a deal if the Yankees agree to eat most of his contract. His contract calls for 22.95 million for the next two years.
