Red Sox Claim Giles

Boston has claimed right fielder Brian Giles off waivers and are have 48 hours to make a deal with San Diego for the 14-year vet. Giles is hitting .296 with a .391 OBP. the Red Sox might be trying to acquire him as insurance since Mike Lowell is having hip issues and David Ortiz is not 100 percent over his wrist problems.
