The New York Mets acquired outfielder Ben Johnson and pitcher John Adkins. Johnson, can play all out field positions and displays the potential to have great power. The Padres acquired two pitchers who will be needed to full spots in the bullpen. The Mets probably unloaded some money in hopes of throwing a big contract at Barry Zito, to draw him to New York.
