According to Nikkan Sports, free agent pitcher Junichi Tazawa is expected to sign with the Red Sox. At least five other teams made guaranteed offers to the top amateur arm in the country, who has recently dominated in the Industrial League. Tazawa would likely start on an accelerated program in Single-A, developing an approach and adjusting to an American style of play.
The Red Sox's offer is believed to be worth 6 million dollars.
