Mets and Phillies Update

P Orlando Hernandez is close to signing a two year deal around 12 million dollars with the Mets. The Phillies will meet with Soriano's agent tomorrow, and they expect to make a formal offer. At first, FOXSPORTS.com reported they made a 5 yr. 75 million dollar offer. However, the offer is expected to be increased and made official. Phillies GM Pat Gillick said that Soriano is the missing to piece to a World Series lineup.

Other teams expected to make a serious run at Soriano are the Cubs, Angels, Astros, Dodgers, Mets, and Orioles. His agent said he wants a 7 yr. 120 million dollar deal. However, he will be 31 when the season starts and I do not know if teams will be willing to offer that many years. The max years I would see are 5 , with mutual option for 6.
