The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Cubs have interest in free agent third baseman Mike Lamb. Lamb, who would back up Aramis Ramirez, was released by the Brewers earlier this week. He is hitting .250 this spring, but has a .277 career batting average. Sources believe the Cubs are serious about adding Lamb considering they pursued Corey Koskie this offseason as well. Koskie has since retired from baseball, leaving Aaron Miles as the fall back if Ramirez were to go down.
