Nationals After Mulder?

The Nationals are among a couple teams eying lefty free agent Mark Mulder. Mulder, who is two or three weeks away from pitching, is also being courted by the Dodgers and Athletics. Mulder told reporters that he had a breakthrough during his last rehab stint and believes he is in the best shape ever. The Nationals are 1-10 and are giving the ball to rookie Jordan Zimmerman tonight against Derek Lowe and the Braves. While Zimmerman may have what it takes to pitch in the big leagues, he has had only 35 starts in the minor leagues, pitching just once in Triple-A.

Adding a veteran like Mulder to anchor that rotation would not only take pressure off of guys like John Lannan, but also Scott Olsen, who is off to an 0-2 start after being acquired from the Marlins this past offseason.
