Marcus Thames Out With Major Injury

Steve Kornacki of mlive.com is reporting that Tigers outfielder Marcus Thames is going to be out with a major injury for possibly two months. "It's a grade three, the worst, with bleeding involved. The intercostal, bone and cartilage were all tugged on. That's tough when all that happens." Thames strained his intercostal muscle and the cartilage between his rib bones. Thames is allowed no activity until the injury starts to improve. Thames was expected to be the full time DH with Gary Sheffield gone, and now they are forced to look elsewhere.

Maybe we'll see the Tigers take a chance on a free agent veteran like Jim Edmonds.
