Free agent pitcher Chad Gaudin cleared waivers today, meaning the Cubs will be on the hook for 1.6 million dollars. Any team can now sign Gaudin, and his agent said that teams have been calling. "We have a lot of teams calling so were taking a step back, " agent Larry Reynolds said. Gaudin has offers as a middle reliever, but he is reportedly looking to start. If he were willing to accept a minor league deal, he might get that opportunity.
The Rockies, Rangers, Twins, and Padres could all make a move for Gaudin, who had a 6.26 ERA last season with the Cubs in 24 games (Had a 3.59 in 26 games with the Athletics).
