The New York Post is reporting that free agent pitcher Pedro Martinez still plans on pitching in 2009. Martinez is still standing by his demands of a one year deal worth 5 million dollars, despite not receiving much interest this spring. His agent, however, says that he has been in contact with several teams and expects more calls as spots open in up in rotations.
One AL executive believes Martinez will be signed before the end of month, but at a price around 3-4 million dollars.
