The Oakland Athletics and second baseman Mark Ellis have agreed to a multiyear deal, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "I'm very excited," Ellis said, "Oakland has been a very good place for me and my family, and it's a big relief to be back here." Ellis hit .233 with 12 HR in 117 games this season, before he ended his season to get shoulder surgery. Ellis believes that the Athletics will soon "snowball" like Tampa and Colorado as of late. They have the pitching, they have some solid young players that will shape a lineup - I say they are a couple seasons away.
