If the Orioles fail to covet Mark Teixiera, it is possible they would pursue Paul Konerko. The White Sox are in the market for an infielder and could target either Brian Roberts or Melvin Mora in a trade. The Orioles pursued Konerko back in 2005 before he resigned with the White Sox, so it is possible they would make the move again. He has two years left on his contract that will give him 24 million dollars, so he is a pretty good bargain if you miss out on Teixiera.
Unloading Konerko would open a spot in the outfield because they would likely move Swisher to first base, his natural position.

If the White Sox could include Knoerko in a deal for Brian Roberts, go for it. But, they would have to include a good prospect as well. Any chance Nck Markakis is available too?
I have heard that the O's plan to build around Markakis so I doubt they will trade him. It might be smart to move Konerko right now. He is on the decline and has become a half season producer. Unless they get Roberts, I don't think they should trade him to the O's. If they can't get Roberts they may be able to get something better from the Ms, Angels (if Tex isn't signed), Tankees, Rangers, or Giants to better fit the White Sox plans. All those teams will be looking for a 1B.
no way orioles trade roberts for konerko lol are you serious????? konerko is on the decline and there is no way he helps our rebuilding process wow this is the dumbest thing i ever heard
