Cordero Rejects Assignment, Becomes Free Agent

Washington Nationals closer Chad Cordero rejected an assignment to Triple-A, making him a free agent, the Associate Press reports. Cordero has put up several great seasons, including two seasons with over 35 saves, and will probably get a nice contract. The Angels could pursue Cordero, who is from California, as well as the Cardinals, Brewers, and Dodgers.
