K-Rod Seeking At Least 15 Million?

According to Jon Heyman, Angels closer Francisco Rodriguez is looking to start negotiating at five years around fifteen million dollars annually. His agent would not get into deals so bidding was not already set, but said they are looking for a record deal. His client can basically set the premium after coming off a career year, so look for him to earn around 17-18 million dollars. If he signs that kind of contract, expect the market to go way up for both relievers and starters.

Expect to see a team like the Cardinals aggressively pursue Rodriguez early, in hopes that he would sign a contract netting him 16 million dollars annually.
