According to the Seattle Times, the Mariners received permission from the Blue Jays to interview assistant GM Tony LaCava. LaCava wouldn't replace Ricciardi if he were to be fired, so it is likely he would take the job if offered to him. He has been around for a while and could like do a decent job getting this team back on track. However, with candidates like Kim Ng or Peter Woodfork available, LaCava is likely a long shot.
Woodfork would be my choice for the job. He has been working very closely with Josh Byrnes of the Diamondbacks, and is fairly young. He could easily be a long term GM for the Mariners as they rebuild that team.
