Cubs pitcher Rich Harden will have his shoulder examined at the request of the Chicago Cubs, according to the Chicago Tribune. The Cubs have a seven million dollar club option on Harden, and want to make sure his shoulder is okay before they give him the money. Even if there is little damage which causes him to miss a month or two, the Cubs will pick it up. He has the chance to be an ace and could be a big part of the Cubs' 2009 run.
Harden is 10-2 with a 2.07 ERA with 181 strikeouts.
