Free agent reliever Joe Beimel is closing in on an offer, MLB.com is reporting. He is reportedly deciding between the Padres and Athletics, but the Dodgers and Rockies have had interest along the way. Beimel is the top free agent reliever remaining on the market, meaning he will likely receive somewhere between 1-2 million dollars per year.
He went 5-1 with a 2.02 ERA in 71 games last season, and has compiled a 3.03 ERA since 2005.
