Braves Extend Jones

The Braves and Chipper Jones have agreed to a three year deal worth 42 million dollars. The deal includes a fourth year that could bring up the total amount to 61 million dollars. Jones, 36, has been with the Braves since 1993. He is 92 homeruns away from 500, meaning he needs to hit at least 23 homeruns for the next four seasons to reach it.

It has been a foregone conclusion for a while that Jones would be with the Braves for the rest of his career. He will be off the market through 2013.
