Just hours after acquiring Ronny Paulino from the Phillies for Jack Taschner, they traded Paulino to the Marlins for Hector Correa. The Marlins have had their eye on Paulino for a couple months, so it's not really a surprise to see them acquire him today. He is a decent catcher with above average power that could improve as he ages some. Taschner gives the Phillies another lefty reliever, something they need with Romero out for the first fifty days.
Paulino is not having the best spring, so he'll likely start as the teams backup. But he and lefty John Baker could make for a productive platoon in 2009.
