The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Cubs are looking to trade pitchers Chad Gaudin and Angel Guzman. Both Guzman and Gaudin have struggled this spring, and young pitchers are beating them out for their spots. Rule 5 pick David Patton is having a great spring, and will likely make the team as a middle reliever. The Cubs have 27 players on their active roster, meaning they will need to cut two before Saturday's deadline.
The Padres have shown interest in Angel Guzman, but sources believe teams are waiting to see if the Cubs will put him on waivers. As for Gaudin, he will probably be given a chance to prove himself in April, meaning Jeff Samardzija will likely start the season in Triple-A.
