The New York Post is reporting that the Mets have signed Livan Hernandez to a minor league deal and invited him to Spring Training. Hernandez, who went 13-11 with a 6.05 ERA for the Twins and Rockies last season, will make at least one million dollars if he makes the team. Hernandez can be very valuable to a team because of his durability, but he will have to compete with Freddy Garcia, Jon Niese, and Tim Redding for the fifth spot.
