The Padres and Cliff Floyd have agreed to a one year deal worth 750,000 dollars, plus incentives. Floyd will be a leader in the Padres clubhouse, as well as a solid bat off the bench. He hit .268 with 11 HR in 246-at bats for the Rays last season, and has a career .278 average in PETCO Park. The Padres decided to pass on Luis Gonzalez, so it is possible the Pirates will reenter the mix for his services.
