The Pirates and outfielder Nate McLouth have agreed to a three year extension worth 15.75 million dollars. "We agreed to the deal because we believe in Nate and we're going to feel as strongly four years from now as we do today," general manager Neal Huntington said. "He can go out and relax and play and we can build around him." McLouth hit .276 last season with 26 homeruns in 152 games for the Pirates last season, and also played in the All-Star Game.
Hopefully the Pirates can sign Paul Maholm to a long term deal, something they have worked hard to complete all offseason.
