The Orioles and Brian Roberts are closing in on a four year extension worth 40 million dollars. Roberts will make 8 million dollars next season, with the new deal kicking in through 2013. Roberts is a career .284 hitter, but has averaged 42 stolen bases over the past three seasons. Roberts has been the subject of trade talks for the past two seasons, drawing interest from the Indians, White Sox, and Cubs, among others.

good deal... one year later the O's resign B-Rob and also pick up Pie and Hill (last years trade rumor)
He'd be smart to hold off and "get outta dodge" as a free agent...those others definitely will when they reach that status. That's what happens in B-more now.
Baseball Stu... well, he is resigning so the trend didn't take place.
