The Braves and Derek Lowe have agreed to a four year deal worth 60 million dollars. Lowe, who was being pursued by the Mets, Red Sox, and Phillies, is pending a physical. Lowe, 36, is one of the most durable pitchers in the league. Not only that, but he has never been on the disabled list and has averaged 208 innings over the past seven seasons.
The Braves will now turn their attention to finding a corner outfielder, and they have talked to the Yankees about Xavier Nady. Nady would be a good addition, and he probably won't cost the Braves too much. If the Braves can't acquire Nady, they could target Delmon Young, Austin Kearns, or Corey Hart as other options.
