Dodgers, Jones Restructure Deal

The Dodgers and Andruw Jones have agreed to pay Andruw Jones five million dollars in 2009, saving them 12 million dollars on 2009's payroll. The Dodgers have until Spring Training to trade Jones, or he can asked to be released. The Dodgers can use the deferred money for a corner outfielder, perhaps Manny Ramirez. Jones hit .158 in 75 games (209 at-bats) for the Dodgers last season and hit .222 for the Braves in 2007.

It'll be interesting to see what teams take a look at him. Teams will probably wait till closer to Spring Training when the Dodgers are more desperate to swing a deal. The Royals are a possible landing spot.
