The Red Sox have traded pitcher David Aardsma to the Mariners for pitcher Fabian Williamson. Williamson, 20, had a 4.10 ERA in 52 2/3 innings in the Appy League last season. He doesn't project as a true force in the league, but he could break the bullpen in a couple years. The Mariners get a hard throwing right hander who doesn't have much command over his pitches. He lacks a solid secondary pitch to turn to, which hurts the power of his fastball. Moving to a big stadium in Seattle could help him, but he probably won't have much of an impact.
