Major League Baseball has suspended relief pitcher J.C. Romero for fifty games for using a performance enhancer. Romero was reportedly told that the substance was acceptable, but now he will be suspended for the first fifty games of the season and will lose 1.25 million dollars.
It will be interesting to see if the Phillies go after a reliever like Brandon Lyon or Juan Cruz for the first two months of the season.
